MEET YOUR LOCAL BIRD LADY

It started with one backyard.

I’m Alicia Jay, born and raised in Martin County. In 2019, I began turning my own backyard into a place where wildlife could flourish—one plant, one feeder, and one small step at a time.

What started with grass, a privacy fence and two pine trees is now a little ecosystem of native plants, birds, pollinators and other backyard visitors. I’d love to help you find that same connection in your own outdoor space.

A CLOSER LOOK

A garden grown one small step at a time.

I’ve always been interested in wildlife and conservation. When I bought my home in 2019, I decided to dedicate my backyard to helping wildlife succeed. As a single mother, I couldn’t do everything all at once. The garden grew slowly, as time and resources allowed.

Native plants, trees and shrubs gradually replaced that blank slate with places for pollinators, hummingbirds, backyard birds and beneficial insects. Watching those visitors is still part of what makes this space special.

Why this became a business.

Questions from neighbors

People began asking how to attract birds, which plants to use and where to place them. Others wanted help with bird-feeder cameras. Those conversations showed Alicia a need for practical, local support.

Care beyond the first planting

A welcoming garden takes ongoing attention. Feeder, camera and birdbath maintenance make it easier to enjoy the space after the setup is finished.

A place for wildlife and people

The aim is to help you enjoy your backyard while creating places for wildlife to find food, water and shelter. A small courtyard can be part of that story too.
